Founder Story
Taylor Soccer Group was founded in Sudbury, Ontario by Jon Taylor with a simple vision — to create more opportunities for youth soccer players across Northern Ontario.
As a coach, parent of four young athletes, and lifelong supporter of the game, Jon saw firsthand the challenges families face when it comes to access, cost, and opportunities in youth sports. Northern Ontario often lacks the same tournament exposure, development pathways, and community initiatives that larger markets enjoy. Taylor Soccer Group was created to change that.
Through high-quality tournaments, community initiatives, and partnerships with local organizations, Taylor Soccer Group is committed to growing the game while making soccer more accessible for families and players across the region.
Our Mission
Our mission is to grow the game of soccer across Sudbury and Northern Ontario by creating meaningful opportunities for youth players while strengthening the soccer community.
We strive to:
- Organize competitive and professionally run youth tournaments
- Create positive development experiences for young athletes
- Support families and reduce barriers to participation
- Give back to the community through initiatives like the Play It Forward Cleat Program

Our long-term vision is to establish Taylor Soccer Group as a leading youth soccer organization in Northern Ontario.
Over time, we aim to:
- Host premier youth tournaments that attract teams from across Ontario and beyond
- Expand community initiatives that help more kids access the sport
- Introduce additional programming such as futsal leagues
- Build strong partnerships with clubs, organizations, and local businesses
Our goal is simple: get more kids on the field and grow the game across Northern Ontario.
