Play It Forward – Cleat Initiative
Play It Forward is a community initiative created by Taylor Soccer Group to help reduce the financial barriers that can prevent young athletes from playing soccer. Soccer cleats are one of the most frequently replaced and costly pieces of equipment for growing players. Many families have gently used cleats that no longer fit, while others are searching for affordable options so their children can stay on the field. Play It Forward helps bridge that gap by collecting donated cleats and redistributing them to players who need them.
Each year during March and April, Taylor Soccer Group collects gently used soccer cleats from the community. Throughout March, donations are gathered and organized. In early April, the cleats are distributed to families through an online inventory where they can browse available sizes and request a pair that fits their child.
Our goal is simple: get more kids on the field by lowering the cost of the game. By encouraging families to donate cleats that still have life left in them, Play It Forward helps support local players, promote sustainability, and strengthen the soccer community across Sudbury and Northern Ontario. Together, we can Play It Forward and ensure more young athletes have the opportunity to play the game they love.
